Swooy Privacy Policy
This is written in plain language on purpose. It describes exactly what Swooy collects, why, and what we will never do with it.
1. What Swooy is
Swooy is an entertainment app. You swipe like or dislike on portraits of AI-generated, fictional people (adults, appearing roughly 18–40). The app learns your aesthetic profile ("taste keywords") from your swipes, then an AI image provider generates an original portrait of your "ideal type".
Every person shown in Swooy is AI-generated and fictional. There are no real-person photos anywhere in the app. All images carry the watermark "AI generated · fictional". Any resemblance to a real person is coincidental, and every image can be reported in-app.
2. Data we collect
You use Swooy with an anonymous device account (via Supabase) — no sign-up, no name, no phone number. We collect:
- Anonymous user ID — a random identifier created for your device account.
- Swipe events — which image ID you saw and the action you took (like, dislike, etc.).
- Derived preference data — taste keywords and preference vectors computed from your swipes.
- Generation data — the prompts we build and the images generated for you.
- Share and vote analytics — counts of share-card opens and votes on leaderboard entries.
- Anti-abuse vote keys — when someone votes on the web landing page, we derive an anonymized, hashed key (from IP-derived data) to block duplicate and automated votes. We store the hash, not a raw log of your browsing.
- Crash logs — via Sentry, only if crash reporting is enabled in your build: device model, OS version, and the technical stack trace of the crash.
- Android Advertising ID — used by Google AdMob to serve ads (see section 5). Subject to your consent choices where required.
- Email address (optional) — only if you choose to link an account for recovery. Never required.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone input, messages, browsing history, or payment card details.
3. How we use it
- Run the core loop: swipes → taste keywords → generated portrait.
- Keep your progress attached to your anonymous account.
- Run the opt-in weekly leaderboard and count votes fairly (anti-abuse hashing).
- Show ads that keep the app free, and reward-gate generations.
- Diagnose and fix crashes.
- Improve the image pool and generation quality using aggregated, anonymized data.
4. What we DON'T do
- No real-person photos. All content is AI-generated fiction.
- No face recognition. We never scan, analyze, or match your face or anyone else's. The app has no camera feature.
- No selling of personal data. Ever.
- No dating profiles or matchmaking. Nobody can find, browse, or contact you through Swooy.
5. Ads & consent
Swooy shows ads through Google AdMob: a bottom banner and rewarded videos that unlock generations. AdMob may use your Android Advertising ID to serve personalized or non-personalized ads.
If you are in the EEA, UK, or another region requiring consent, you will see a consent prompt (Google UMP) before personalized ads are served, and you can change your choice in the app's settings. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android system settings at any time.
How Google handles this data: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses ads data.
6. Sharing & the public leaderboard
Nothing you do in Swooy is public by default. Two things are shareable, and both are your choice:
- Share cards — you can share a generated result as an image card with a link (https://img.swooy.app/s.html). Only what is on the card is shared.
- Weekly leaderboard — strictly opt-in. If you join, your generated image appears under an anonymous handle so visitors can vote via the web page. Your swipes and taste profile are never shown. You can withdraw an entry any time in the app, and anyone can flag an entry via the report button or by emailing us; we remove entries on request and at our discretion.
7. Data retention & deletion
- Uninstalling the app removes all data stored on your device.
- Server data (your anonymous account, swipes, taste profile, generations) is kept while your account is active so the app keeps working.
- Deletion on request: email support@swooy.app from any address and include the account ID shown in the app's settings screen. We delete your account and associated server data within 30 days. This covers GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent rights (access, deletion, correction) — the same email works for all of them.
- Vote anti-abuse hashes are kept only as long as needed for the weekly round they protect.
8. Children
Swooy is rated 17+ and is not intended for anyone under 17. No content depicts, or is generated to depict, anyone appearing under 18 — all fictional persons are adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child is using Swooy, email us and we will delete the account.
9. A note on sensitive inferences
Your taste keywords and preference vectors describe aesthetic preferences. They are private to you: never displayed publicly, never attached to leaderboard entries or share cards, never shared with advertisers, and never used to infer protected attributes such as sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or health. They exist for one purpose — generating your portrait inside the app.
10. International transfers
Swooy is a global app run by an individual developer. Data is processed on infrastructure providers (such as Supabase and Cloudflare) whose servers may be located in the United States, the EU, or other regions. Where required, transfers rely on recognized safeguards such as standard contractual clauses offered by these providers.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be flagged inside the app.
